Anstine Memorial Scholarship Chair at 215-677-0155 or email AW118@aol.com PA Taxpayer Protest Set Recently State Representative Daryl Metcalfe of Butler County stated with just over a month to go until the state budget deadline there remains only two options to close the estimated $3 billion and growing Rendell budget deficit: Cut the size of state government or as a spokeswoman for the House Appropriations Chairman informed the Associated Press raise PA's Personal Income Tax to 4.07 percent or $3.1 billion. "There were nearly 36,00 fewer jobs created between 2004 and 2005 after Governor Ed Rendell increased PA's personal income tax from 2.8 percent to the current level of 3.08 percent in 2003," Mr. Metcalfe said. "The only way for us to stop this $3.1 billion tax increase is with your help," he added. Grassroots Republicans are urged to meet at the PA State Capitol in Harrisburg for a taxpayers' protest on June 9th from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. For complete details please go to www.RepMetcalfe.com. |
