| Anne B. Anstine Scholarshop The Feburary 28, 2010 deadline is rapidly approaching for the Anne B. Anstine Memorial Scholarship. The Anne B. Anstine Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding female who is selected by the scholarship committee on the basis of factors relating to academic performance and leadership activities. Wechter, Scholarship Committee Chair, 8936 Leonard Street, Philadelphia, PA 18152 or call 215-677-0155. Dues Payable Now Has your council submitted its PFRW dues? The deadline is March 31st if you would like your council to have delegates seated at the 2010 PFRW Convention. Local councils should submit the names of at least 10 members along with their check. The membership list should include each member's first and last name, address, city, state, zip, phone number and email. PFRW dues are $10 per member and NFRW dues are $10 per member. There is a one time service fee of $15 for NFRW. Additional members can be added at any time after the initial dues payment is made. Elsie T. Young Internship Program The Elsie T. Young Internship Program is now accepting applications for the 2010 internship. Applicants must be in their freshman year of college or older, having |
| graduated from high school, but not yet graduated from college. Applicants should have a general knowledge of government and a keen interest in politics, be a registered Republican, office and computer skills are needed. The internship will include five weeks of employment. The stipend will be $300.00 a week. PFRW News In January PFRW Secretary, Shirley Herman, discovered water damage to the ceiling tiles at PFRW headquarters. According to PFRW President Joyce Grant, it was learned the problem was with the steam pipe. Upon further inspection by the steam pipe company, NRG it was determined there was a break in the steam pipe from the street into the headquarters and NRG was responsible. The water damage to PFRW headquarters is extensive and as a result the headquarters is closed until all repairs are made. Shirley is working from her home and able to retrieve all phone messages and emails to PFRW. All PFRW mail is being forwarded to Shirley at her home until headquarters reopens. Plans are underway for several PFRW events. Red Jacket Day on the Hill is schedule for April 13th. The SE/SC Conference is set for April 24. The NW/SW Conference will either be May 1st or May 15th.
